How many dining places have you been? How many of them you remember well? In these restaurants with eccentric food and ambience, we make sure you remember every single detail of your dining session.

For our Feast Issue, we present you 32 top-rated restaurants around Jakarta you must be crazy to miss out. Right now, we’re taking Top 3 winners of Restaurants with Weirdest (and most delicious) Food Concepts.

MOTHER MONSTER

The exquisite menu, a modern twist on the New American cuisine, offers a delectable selection of freshly-made artisan coffee, bespoke drinks, and impeccable eclectic meals. At Mother Monster, fusion cuisines are highlighted to offer diners with a melting pot of different cultures and methods.

To satisfy your hunger cravings, HighEnd recommends the partly peculiarly named (but simply delicious) Ugly Olio, Pork Rib Burger, 48 Hour Ragu, Double Beef Burger, or Australian Prime Rib, 200 days grain fed. Thirst quenchers to try are Chocolate Mar-Three-Ni, Pleasure Garden, and Aviation. Wrap up your dining experience with a dose of sweets; HighEnd’s top picks are Matcha Lava Cake and Steamed Coconut Cake.

MADAGASKAR

Taking inspirations from the deep jungles of Madagascar quite literally, dining at this thematic restaurant feels like stepping into a pristine jungle of exotic plants and wildlife with its avant garde décor. Towering synthetic plants bring forth the jungle nuance, while a variety of life-sized animal figurines, both stationary and animatronics, are scattered throughout the dining area complete the look.

Madagaskar’s menu book is a wonderful compilation of Asian, Japanese, Korean, Western and local cuisine to please even the pickiest of eaters. From their diverse offering, HighEnd recommends the tasty Wildebeast Tongue Rice for a meal, accompanied by Jellow Mellow to drink and Cendol Cake for dessert.

NUSA INDONESIAN GASTRONOMY

Located at Jakarta’s prime dining area within a colonial house, NUSA utilizes the many wonderful harvests of Indonesia and cultivates them using authentic techniques and cooking processes that are used traditionally, and then perfects them using a modern touch.

The dishes at NUSA change periodically in 2 to 3 months time, not only because they depend on the present harvest situation, but also to cater the other Indonesian dishes previously untouched and unfamiliar to diners in Jakarta. Amongst the dishes well-loved by guests are Gulai Banak (Western Sumatera dish of cow brains flavored with curry spice), Ulak-Ulak (Halmahera salad dish with special walnuts from Jailolo area) and Na Niura (fish cooked by Jungga acid from Lake Toba in North Sumatera).
