After having fashionable jetlags from New York to Milan and London, Paris retains their title as Fashion Capital of the World with their sophisticated range of couture collection. What can we learn from the encore of Spring/Summer Fashion Weeks?
HighEnd's Fashion Director picked seven strong designers that define the Spring/Summer 2018 lookbook. They are Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Celine, Chanel, Giambatista Valli, Hermes, and, of course, Thom Browne. All of them share an interesting theme to steal the stage next year: Science Fiction and Futurism.
YVES SAINT LAURENT
With kinky romanticism they brought, Saint Laurent's S/S 2018 collection is shifting the direction from the past to the future. Be it unsynchronized, overvolumed puffs and ruffles, iridescent materials, mixed with masculine leather goods. Synthetic furs and beautiful earrings keep the femme fatale looks on balance.
GIAMBATISTA VALLI
Yes, ruffles of Spanish dancers always look good on a bright, warm day. Pinkish shades are still in, according to Valli, and that would be a wise suggestion for the upcoming season. However, has anyone noticed their eccentric-yet-chic sandals for a day out on the beach?
CHANEL
Let's just admit that Chanel's transparent footwears are going to be big. As if it's not enough, the French house is experimenting with plastic-based accessories like fedora, gloves, and... collars. Moving to the outfit, black opalescent jacket and skirts highlight the overall look. Their daring experiment of mixing futuristic material with overall classic, royal cuts is what we love the most from them.

Slim Fit? What Slim Fit? Asks Celine. Oversized, androgynous looks with eclectic color palette and pattern are the new "Slim Fit". Carrying "the bigger, the better" philosophy, give gigantic tote bags and coats a chance next year.
LOUIS VUITTON
Louis Vuitton has made a fine commemoration of sci-fi and adventurous souls lying on the bottom of our deepest hearts. Stripes, blue-and-red mix, Spy Kids uniform, and Stranger Things T-shirt? You mention it. And oh, it is now time to take out our running shoes from the unused pile of our walking closet and pair them with formal embroidered coat. They surprisingly work.
HERMES
There can be no Spring/Summer collection without the use of bright, warm colors. Hermes is playing elegant with pale orange shades and rather emphasizing the unusual cuts of their collection. They are one of many designers in Spring/Summer 2018 Fashion Weeks who agree that purple and shocking pink will take over the spotlight next year.
THOM BROWNE
Everyone is now ready to talk about how ephemeral Thom Browne's couture collection is for the upcoming Spring/Summer season. Not only that they dare to apply mixed materials and unusual size and cuts - they also have extraordinary details - the one thing that shapes haute couture scene. With humanoid, enormous unicorn and mermaid-inspired suit, they seem to arrive directly from Alice's Wonderland.
