From the genius minds behind Kosenda Hotel, comes a fresh establishment in the culinary world: KayuKayu Restaurant. As the name suggests, the restaurant is dominated by amazing craftsmanship of wooden ornament. Romantic atmosphere and rustic vibe are the cornerstone of the restaurant.

KayuKayu Restaurant was founded by Ruben Kosenda, the brilliant innovator of Kosenda Hotel. Located at Alam Sutera at the same area of the wooden furniture specialist Ethnicraft, KayuKayu is graced with the craftsmanship and enduring concept of authentic wood design. The interior is dominated with wooden furniture and plant esthetics. It is filled with up-cycled furniture where unused woods, steels, and other cast-off materials find their second lease of life as pieces of functioning art.

The furnishing transformation comes from the touch of Santi Alaysius and Hamphrey Tedja of Domisilium Studio, a well-known design firm. The glass walls of KayuKayu aim to allow the sun to cast into the spacious spots, creating warm greetings for the visitors. The entire interior is the brainchild of amazing architect Joe Wilendra from W Office. The design is nothing like we have seen before in most dining places.

KayuKayu serves as an oasis for individuals to recharge and renew their senses with authentic Indonesian food. It reintroduces traditional dishes familiar to Indonesian tastebuds, only with a different touch.

Menu wise, HighEnd suggest ordering Bandeng Bakar Sambal Matah, Ayam Goreng Kalasan or Laksa Peranakan for full-on course, Rujak Buah for appetizer, and Martabak Manis for dessert. To be a perfect culinary journey, the restaurant is incorporated with a coffee shop named 127 Café, where high quality coffee and tea are served.

The atmosphere of this place is suitable for all kinds of lively family events. It is able to cater up to 45 guests for private occasion, held exclusively in its function room. Other than that, KayuKayu’s two-story space is capable to fit up to 350 guests. It is the reason why the space is also perfect for an intimate and sophisticated wedding.
