Tesla, the world’s renowned motor company that specializes in electric automotives and energy storage proudly presents the new Model 3 car in 2018.
Tesla, whose production of vehicles passed 300,000 in February 2018, has been heavily promoting Model 3 since mid 2017, as part of a stronger campaign to introduce electric cars to the world. It is said that if Tesla manages to deliver 20,000 cars to customers each month, the brand would surpass the sales of the previously released hybrid cars by the end of the year.
Seen On the Road Prior to Release Date?
Model 3 has been a testament on how successful its engineers from Silicon Valley are in gaining masses to shift from ancient gasoline-powered cars to electricity. As of the end of 2017, a few of Model 3 cars can be seen on the road already, although most of them are used by the Tesla employees. Tesla CEO Elon Musk admits that the car is running behind schedule because of a slight production issue, but it is still slated to reach customer’s doors in late 2018.
Model S Comparison
Compared to its predecessor Model S, Model 3 is a smaller, simpler and more affordable electric car that accelerates in 5.1 – 5.6 sec from 0 to 60 mph, with 220 to 310 miles range of travel. Supercharging can be done for a fee, unlike Model S’ free unlimited supercharging. Even so, Model 3 is still designed to be the safest car in its class. Just like any other sedan, the car fits 5 adults comfortably.
How Nice Does It Look?
Appearance-wise, Model 3 and Model S look almost alike except for the taller roof and bobbed nose and tail. After all, Model 3 is still linked genetically to all of its Tesla ancestors in design and also battery placement in the bottom. The interior shows one horizontal touch screen monitor and small speedometer readout in the upper left corner.
