Everybody Loves Saddle Bag

Just two weeks after releasing the revamped version of Dior’s saddle bag, Maria Grazia Chiuri is totally having her time of the year.

Why? I mean, why not? The vintage bag is not only making a comeback—it is getting a huge reception from today’s it girls like Bella Hadid, Adwoa Aboah, and Jennifer Lawrence. What actually happened?

The saddle-shaped mini bag was a cult in early 2000s; every it girl carried them everywhere, including Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and The City, Paris Hilton, and Beyonce. You might remember one of your aunts wearing them at family gathering one time when you were younger—and I’m not kidding. Somehow after a few seasons it vanished away and now you can only find them in luxury preloved store. Some of them do not cost more than $100, and we regret we didn’t have it earlier.

Dior’s Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri has decided to re-release the bag for the label’s Fall/Winter season. This time, the bag will be available in two sizes. They even have wider material range, starting from leather, embroidered canvas, beaded fringe, to the iconic logo-laden canvas. If you’re not into hand bag, you can have it as a cross-body—just like some celebs did.

Chiuri sees the saddle bag as “an opportunity to revive timeless beauty”, as the bag is “worn in exactly the same way as a shirt or jacket, and it's so comfortable to wear with its long strap that you almost forget it's there.”

She has proved her point, though. It seems to us that at least two hundreds of models, actresses, and influencers are raving over the bag that it becomes a street-style standard. Take a look at how they wear it below:
