Event Report: Miss Indonesia 2018

After two weeks of quarantine process, the Crowning Night of Miss Indonesia 2018 gave birth to the latest winner who will represent Indonesia in Miss World 2018 (22/02).


Last night, Miss Indonesia 2017 Achintya Nilsen passed her crown to Miss Indonesia 2018 winner from West Java, Alya Nurshabrina. The crowning was assisted by Miss World 2017, Manushi Chhillar. The Parahyangan University alumnus received honors for her new title from Chief Judge Mrs. Liliana Tanoesoedibjo.

Miss Indonesia 2018 Alya Nurshabrina is known for her passion to social projects including Autism Awareness project in West Java, making her a stand-out candidate for Beauty with A Purpose vision. Following her is Runner-up I Narda Virelia (Miss West Sumatera), Runner-up II Nadya Astrella (Miss Central Java), 4th position Harini Sondakh (Miss North Sulawesi), and 5th position Raudha kasmir (Miss Aceh).

Board of Judges which comprises of Liliana Tanoesoedibjo,Stephanie Hill, Wulan Tilaar, Peter F. Saerang, Ferry Salim, Natasha Manuella, and Maria Harfanti gave questions to each of Top 16 finalists, until Mrs. Liliana herself asked a question about integrity to Top 5 finalists.

The evening was even more special with the attendance of Miss World 2016 Natasha Del Valle, and six Miss Continents from Asia, Africa, Europe, America, Carribean, and Oceania. A number of prominent guests also joined the evening to witness the blissful moment, including Miss World Chairwoman Julia Morley, sponsors, celebrities, and Miss Indonesia alumni.
