AQ Dulux Invitational 2017
Larasati Oetomo
25 September 2017

At least 120 businesspeople and 30 corporates joined a merry afternoon playing golf at Damai Indah Golf Course, Pantai Indah Kapuk, on Wednesday, 20 September 2017.

It was a special day for the founding corporate, ARKdesign, and their partner Dulux, to hold their annual benefit golf tournament for the seventh time since its establishment in 2011. Unlike any regular golf event, they gather in one day not only to have all the fun through sportsmanship, but through the sense of humanity as well.  AQ Dulux Invitational 2017 aims to support humanitarian projects through charity, with Yayasan Kasih bagi Sahabat (Partners for Compassions) social foundation and Yayasan Seribu Guru Pelita Bangsa, a rural education foundation, become their benefactors this year.

This year’s event would be the third time AQ and Dulux team up for the event. When we met Mr. Jun De Dios, President Director of AkzoNobel Decorative Paints Indonesia (parent company of Dulux), at the court, he was glad about the lasting relationship with AQ on realizing the Benefit Golf Tournament. A considerable number of the most influential people in the property, engineering, and technology industry enjoyed the tournament as dozens of national and multinational corporations sponsored the event. Parallel with the golf tournament, a number of mini games, charitable auction, and gala dinner enhanced the festivity of the annual charity event.

Mr. Paul Tan, Managing Editor of AQ (short for ARKDesign Quarterly), as well as chairman and founder of the event, was glad to share the strategy to gather humanitarian souls in big business. “Us, architects, deal with a lot of people—clients, investors, developers, and links to other property-related businesspeople.  Once you build a strong, mutual networking with them, it is easier to collaborate through shared interests—golf and goodwill.”
