Weddings are once in a lifetime event, and one can’t help but wish to make theirs extra special. That would feel really personal to tie the knot in hidden yet beautiful places not many people think about.

Stellenbosch, South Africa

This vineyard town in South Africa gives totally different charm than its more well-known competitors, Napa Valley and Tuscany. Located about one-hour drive from Cape Town, Stellenbosch is getting famous for hosting weddings at wine resorts. Both outdoor and indoor weddings provide ample grassy fields as well as luxurious banquet halls, allowing couples to have as little or as many guests as they like.

Lake Placid, NY, United States

Unlike the film series with the same name, Lake Placid is far from creepy and terrifying. In fact, it is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Eastern seaboard. Lake Placid is peaceful with its serene waters and gorgeous scenery of mountains and pine trees. Wedding ideas here include romantic fireside ceremony and lakeside reception inside a luxurious tent, complete with locally sourced culinary treats.

Bataan, Philippines

Although it’s located in Southeast Asia, the vintage Latin feels in here is real. For a precious and timeless traditional wedding, this Philippine province has several rustic and classic buildings for a dreamy wedding venue. The old town look translates very beautifully in pictures and videos, completed with horse-drawn carriages, ancient staircases, stone brick walls and church towers.

Turtle Island, Maldives

Let’s move on to beach weddings, and what would be a better place than the stunning island country of Maldives? Turtle Island, specifically, promises romance for a lifetime from the moment you step into the island until the end of days. Daredevils can even get married under water for a change of scenery, or escape to a private sandbank that is peaceful and secluded.

Udaipur, India

Udaipur houses a number of palace-like structures for wedding, creating a breathtaking royal backdrop to exchange vow. One of the most prominent is The Oberoi Udaivilas in terms of architecture and views. Lake Picola is clearly visible from the resort, a sweet addition to the majestic building suitable to host weddings of princes and princesses. There’s another surprise—everyone going here arrives by boat—neat isn’t it?
