We Unveil the 1st BMW i8

04 May 2017

First introduced as prototype on Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), and formally released in 2014, one of the most progressive automobiles in the world BMW i8 finally rolling in Indonesia.

The first handing of BMW i8 in Indonesia is as special as ever, since the first unit handed to the owner was one of one. It is the BMW i8 Protonic Red Edition, distributed only one unit in each country. Unlike the regular BMW i8, this one is glazed in red and black. The W-spoke 470 light-alloy tires are customized to need. The most distinctive feature (other than the color, of course) comes from its light, as featured with BMW Laser Light. It is a high-intensity LED light with 30% less electricity consumption, reaching through 600 metres ahead.

In luxury car class, the BMW i8 is like salad between burgers and pizza - only that it is a really good salad. It is not as rich in taste, as popular, or as bourgeoisie as other luxury or sports car. However, it is so fresh and smart that it feels so good. More importantly, healthier than ever.

With almost 50:50 weight distribution and very light-weight CFRP frame, the BMW i8 is as efficient as ever. With 1.5l turbocharged 3-cylinder engine, this automobile may not seem so sexy in term of power. Yet, with its efficiency, it can go from 0-100kmh in just 4.1sec.

How would a petrolhead would want a plug-in hybrid who barely makes any roary sound? How would they choose a car with green concept and minimalistic engine, built in all-environment-friendly frame?

With BMW i8, finally they would. Like we say before, it is a salad - but it's a very good salad we cannot resist.
