We list down only the best, newly-established restaurants in Jakarta you must be crazy to miss out.

PARDON MY FRENCH

Jl. KH. Wahid Hasyim #154 – 156, Central Jakarta. Opening hours: 8 AM – 11 PM (Mondays to Thursday) & 1 AM (Fridays to Sundays)

The spearheading of Pardon My French came from an idea to combine French and Japanese tradition. It combines the classy side of French heritage with the appeal of Japanese authenticity.

From the Japanese menu, the highly recommended appetizer worth to try is Nori Taco (spicy tuna, tobiko, melted cheese on fried nori tempura). Lasagna Roll and main course L’entrecote-Style Steak (200 gram USA sirloin beef with truffle fries) are champions.

AGNEYA

Jl. Wijaya IX #23 South Jakarta. Opening hours: 11.30 AM to 22.30 (weekdays) & 23.30 (weekends)

The restaurant nestles in lush green environment, incorporated with wide and tall clear glass windows fully immersing the ‘back to basics’ natural concept. Agneya offers a wide array of Indonesian food – improved and augmented.

HighEnd recommends their cult-favorite Soun Bunglon Udang; a color-changing noodle salad tasted almost like asinan. Udang Ratu Bakar from the seafood selection and the fire-roasted Bakar Bambu Bebek Ala Rica-Rica are definitely at the top of the list.

WILLIAM’S CASUAL DINING

Jl. Tulodong Atas #28, SCBD, South Jakarta. Opening hours: Mon – Thu: 10AM – 11PM, Fri – Sat: 10AM – 1AM, Sun: 9AM – 10PM

Located in the intersection of Sudirman’s business district and an urban neighborhood, William’s is built with a welcoming ambience that combines the best of both worlds. The architecture is dominated by blue pantone palette, wooden materials and copper furniture. The venue serves a thoughtful menu as homage to Western-Asian comfort food.

For the Western main course, their winning Roast Baked Barramundi with smoked mashed potato and potato glass is a great choice.

KAYUKAYU RESTAURANT

Jl. Jalur Sutera No. 28A, Serpong Utara, Alam Sutera, Tangerang Selatan. Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 10 AM – 10 PM

Romantic atmosphere and rustic vibe is the cornerstone of the restaurant. It is filled with up-cycled furniture where unused woods, steels and other cast-off materials found their second lease of life as pieces of functioning art.

Menu wise, HighEnd suggests ordering Bandeng Bakar Sambal Matah, Ayam Goreng Kalasan or Laksa Peranakan for the full-on course, also Rujak Buah for the appetizer and Martabak Manis for the dessert.

MOMOZEN

The Plaza Office Tower 46th Floor, Jl. M. H. Thamrin Kav. 28 – 30, Central Jakarta. Opening hours: Daily 12PM – 3PM (lunch) & 6PM – 10.30PM (dinner)

Momozen brings a unique concept of Japanese cuisine fused with flair from the French art of dining. The founders have an ambition to introduce truffle-based cuisine to the Indonesian public as the first-rate place for everyone seeking good-quality, fresh truffle dishes.

The truffle-based menu items that are definitely must-tries include Black Truffle Somen with Caviar, Foie Gras Corn with Truffle, Baby Chic Truffle Rice, and their signature Truffle Donabe Gohan.
