Local Ready-to-Wear labels SWANK The Label and XALVAR launched their not-too-late Spring/Summer 2018 collection on April 20, 2018.

Held in Satoo Garden, Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta, fashion presentation from the two labels offers a redefinition of urban fashion.  With “Gravity” collection, Swank’s Creative Director Salvi Arzharael introduces urban subculture of hip hop and punk into monochromatic and silver-plated pieces. Some of the pieces are seamed in colors and patterns of “graffiti” (pun intended). His themes include fearlessness, infamy, and self-opinionated while still setting the bar high for the quality of material.

Meanwhile, Ronauli Liu debuts her collection for Xalvar in European romanticism mood. Named “The In-Between”, the collection mixed professional formalism and leisure lifestyle. While ruffles, blazers, and broken whites are often associated as conservative and “boring”, Liu ignores the risk and turn them into chic and comfortable pieces like shorts, flared trousers, and sweatshirts.

HighEnd is glad to be one of the front-rowers at the show. Between two shows FANGTATIS rocked the runway with her special performance. The guests also enjoyed refreshments at the after party.
