As summer is approaching, it’s time to plan your next summer destination. Whether you are traveling with friends or family, here are some of the best summer destinations for millennials.


We can all agree that millennials love to travel and experience new things. While this summer’s usual top travel destinations are Korea, Japan, the UK, and Europe, millennials have very different plans in mind.

Known for their creativity and bravery, millennials are looking for unique and customized summer travel experiences. They are looking for rare activities that give them a taste of the culture and locals. Forget the popular tourist destinations—millennials seek for authenticity when they travel.

Cartagena, Colombia

This gorgeous fishing village is located on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. With excellent beaches, historic old town that is entirely walkable, and beautiful colonial architecture, Cartagena is reportedly one of the safest places in the country. It isn’t just your typical beach summer vacation. Travelers are also able to immerse themselves in the city’s rich history, art, and theater. If you need a break from exploring this beautiful city, stop at an outdoor cafe for a latte, pastry, and some good old people-watching. This eclectic and elegant city is full of passion to fulfill your heart’s desire.

Maui, Hawaii

The Hawaiian island of Maui is a fit travel destination for true nature lovers. Feast your eyes on bamboo forests, gigantic waterfalls, and golden sand beaches. However, what stands out about this island is its adventurous side. For about $200, you can have someone to help you hanging off of a 100-foot jungle cliff with only a rope strung to you. Did I mention that there’s a 50-foot waterfall right below you? This adrenaline-filled hike through the jungle will surely leave you with an experience to remember. You can also go on the longest zipline in the entire of Hawaii. The “Flyin’ Hawaiian Zipline” is the longest, fastest and highest zipline on the island with more than 2.5 miles of line to let you taking the views. This intense and high-speed trip will let you seeing some of the best views of the island.

Naples, Italy

Two hours south of Rome, there lies the romantic city of Naples. With some of the world’s best opera and theater houses, historic statues, and vibrant nightlife, this city also offers many experiences for millennials. Travelers are able to climb Mount Vesuvius, a legendary volcano that famously erupted in 79 A.D. and caused the destruction and burial of Pompeii. The hike-up will take between 20-30 minutes and the views from the top are simply fantastic. You can also visit the ruins of Pompeii and walk through the remains. Adventure-seekers and history buffs will surely get a kick out of this destination.
