Under the theme #MetHeavenlyBodies, The Costume Institute settled a Holy Matrimony of fashion and spirituality with Met Gala 2018.

Jacquard prints, golden beads, papal robes, and… wings. This year’s Met Gala brought heaven on earth with medieval Catholicism titled “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. Held at Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, last night (07/05), the biggest costume ball was attended by hundreds of high society figures to fundraise for Met’s Costume Institute.

This year, Creative Directors from the most popular brands like Jeremy Scott (Moschino), Alessandro Michele (Gucci), and Pier Paolo Piccioli (Valentino) brought home the grace with their head-turning artworks. Featuring big names like Cardi B, Jared Leto, Lana Del Rey, Frances McDormand, and Anne Hathaway as muses, everybody agrees that they are on the top list of best-dressed (and best-dresser) that evening.

Moving over, Rihanna once again swoon everyone with her literal depiction of majesty.  She paired long papal robe with a mitre and walked gracefully to her throne. On another corner, Cara Delevingne revived the gothic era with her see-through “cage”.

Priyanka Chopra also stole everyone’s attention with beaded mantilla and red velvet gown. Standing quite oppositely, Solange stood with contemporary portrayal of motherly figure in synthetic black outfits.

Zendaya and Stella Maxwell rocked the golden carpet with metallic frock from Versace and Moschino.

For more conventional alternatives, both Blake Lively and Amanda Seyfried shone in aristocratic dresses resembling an angel.
