Entering Lunar New Year season, JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta is hosting a series of celebrations aiming to celebrate luck and prosperity in the Year of Earth Pig.

There are so many ways to celebrate Lunar New Year with family and friends, and it seems like JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta is having an all-around feast at the hotel. And, talking about tradition, it’s impossible to talk about Lunar New Year at all without mentioning the hamper-sharing tradition.

The 5-star hotel is bringing back the traditional dessert, the koi-shaped Nian Gao, as hampers. Crafted in all-natural ingredients, the “fish” is available in two sizes: single large and twin small. While the demand is high for the Traditional Flavor Nian Gao, they also released two other flavors including Coconut Milk Nian Gao and Golden Koi Fish.

You may think that these pretty little things are just visually pleasing, but the taste is equally fine. Especially created by their Executive Chinese Chef Daniel Foong, the nian gao will be a perfect companion to tea. Just for the record, the hamper box is available until 20 February 2019 at Pearl Chinese Restaurant.

The Chef also hosted several Lunar New Year special dining experience, including the Special Three Set Menus: “Wealth”, “Prosperity”, and “Fortune” priced from IDR 988,000 per pax. Both Chinese Pearl and Sailendra Restaurant are also offering special menu on Lunar New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. If you arrive as a large group, you can avoid all the messy preparation of home-made Yee Sang by joining the hotel’s Yee Sang Tossing Ceremony.
