Dreams do come true, right here at Hong Kong Disneyland. HighEnd had an opportunity to escape the daily grind and marvel at this magical land awash with Disney characters.

At Hong Kong Disneyland Park, all the rides and attractions are spread over seven themed areas, with the newest ones including Toy Story Land, Grizzly Gulch, and Mystic Point. There are some fresh additions to the park, such as the highly anticipated Iron Man Experience dedicated to die-hard Marvel fans and “Star Wars: Tomorrow Takeover”, where one can take the adrenaline-pumping Hyperspace Mountain, an indoor roller coaster in the dark. For your little prince or princess, the Broadway-style stage show “Mickey and Wondrous Book” are sure to make them immersed in a fairy-tale world.

If you think the fun is over at nightfall, stick around a little bit, for the best part is yet to come. Following the LED spectacle of the “Disney Paint the Night” parade is a fireworks show that illuminates the Sleeping Beauty Castle from high above. All the bright colors and loud booms in the night sky suddenly weaved their magic, unleashing that inner child within us.

Disney Explorers Lodge is the latest property of Hong Kong Disneyland that was our home for the three-day trip. Quite a stark contrast to Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel that resembles a grand Victorian palace or Hollywood Hotel with its classic Hollywood theme, Disney Explorers Lodge makes us feel like it is a vacation within vacation, thanks to its concept of exotic culture experience. The hotel takes its design cue from the heyday of exploration back in 1920s, while the interior is replete with nature-inspired materials, timber, and a hint of gold. It features 750 rooms with views over the sea or one of the four themed gardens: Asia, Oceania, South America, and Africa.

This trip is part of the package offered by Malaysia Airlines and Hong Kong Disneyland in collaboration with 12 participating agents. By registering for two adults, participants can get one free child return flights from Jakarta or Medan to Hong Kong.
