Four Seasons Jakarta Happy Hour

It’s been an exciting month of February at Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta, as its Nautilus Bar proudly welcomes Senior Bartender Yeonghwi Yun from Charles H., a hidden speakeasy located at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, for the Nautilus Takeover event on the 21st and 22nd of February, 2019.

The name of the hotel was cleverly inspired by Charles H. Baker, a cocktail icon of the Gilded Age touted as the lovechild of Indiana Jones and Jay Gatsby, according to St. John Frizell from Condé Nast Traveler. He was the brain behind many cocktails we’re familiar with these days as he pioneered the transnational fusion of flavors found in cocktails.

Seoul-born Hwi started his bartending career in 2014 at Singapore’s Fullerton Bay Hotel. A year and a half later, he moved back to Seoul and joined Four Seasons Hotel to be a part of the Charles H. launch, where he and his team of bartenders join hands to create one of the World’s Best Bars.

“We are so excited to welcome the first Nautilus Take Over series for 2019 and are so proud to be able to host some of the most talented bartenders from around the region. It’s also just a little bit more special, that this one is from our sister property in Seoul,” said Kartik Kapoor, Four Season Hotel Jakarta’s Director of Food and Beverage.

Available at the event was Hwi’s signature creation, Magic Tree, a bourbon whiskey based cocktail inspired from raisin trees which played an important role in the spice trade of yesteryear.
