Dress like Clooney on D Day

While the bride must be the most beautiful person at a wedding, the groom ought to be the second most beautiful person. Because, you know, it’s every man’s wish to look like George Clooney in tux while tying the knot.

"Admit it"

The first rule of getting a tuxedo for a groom is: do not overshadow the bride; but make sure the groom outshines the groomsmen. Once the wedding color theme and the color pick for groomsmen attire is decided, finding the formal wedding tuxedo should be an easy item to check off of the groom’s to-do list.

Here are some of the rules to ensure the groom picks the perfect look on his wedding day:

Pay close attention to the numbers of buttons and the lapel. Single-breasted tuxedo with two buttons style is the most common choice due to its ability to look great for various body shapes and sizes.

Opt for jetted besom pockets on the jacket other than flap pockets.

Focus on the shape of the collar when choosing the shirt. It either has a regular “turndown” (laydown) collar for laydown tie or “wing” collar.

The five-button vest should be either a full back or bib style. Think carefully about planning to add cummerbunds.

Line the tux with satin or grosgrain facings, especially the lapels, pockets and pants’ out-seam.

Never, ever wear a belt with a tuxedo. Instead, wear trousers that take braces or have side tabs.

Give time to respect the lapel type for the tuxedo. It is the all-or-nothing of one’s entire look.
