Dior Maison recently unveiled 14 exclusive creations at the Salon de Mobile, Milan.

The furniture pieces are collaborative collection between Dior Maison and architecture/interior design studio named Dimore Studio, which was founded in Milan in 2003. As the label said it, the Italian-American duo of Dimore Studio is “given the carte blanche to create a series of precious objects”.

The collection ranges from vases, trays, candelabra, a lighter and an ashtray, place-settings, frames and umbrella stand. These products are being previewed from 9-11 April 2019 at Casa degli Atellani in Milan. For one year period, the collection will be available by special request.

Dior’s signature style, from cubism to surrealism, from cannage motifs to clean curves, are seen everywhere in the collection. Made from various kinds of metals such as gold, silver, and bronze, as well as woven rattan, the collection revisits Monsieur Dior’s love for 18th century heritage.

Transparency, geometric shapes, and fine curves become the identity of the objects. The label shows their dignity mostly in ashtrays, baskets, and vases series. In a way, the whole creation is like a marriage between artworks and pragmatism.

Dior Maison X Dimore Studio handiwork is placed in five rooms at the Casa degli Atellani.  In each setting, the décor is a play on illusion, a graphic theater dominated by black in which outlines of paintings and plants are etched in white chalk; these motifs mingle with real objects, among them pieces from DimoreMilano, Dimore Studio’s own line of furniture and fabrics.
