24 April 2018

Fresh from Milan Design Week 2018 which took place on 17-22 April 2018, the fashion house joined as the enfant terrible of design world.

Bvlgari celebrated the brand’s long-lasting history with design with RVLES OF DESIGN @ FUORISALONE during one of the most celebrated design parades in the world. The Roma-based Maison’s presentation takes three different locations altogether: A gallery in Montenapoleone Boutique, Mirror Cube in il Giardino at the Bvlgari Hotel Milano, and a gigantic 1000-meters square installation at Brera Design District. Every installation is closely related with the label’s evolution in design, thus the name “Rules of Design”.

INSTALLATION – BRERA DESIGN DISTRICT

This time, Bvlgari worked with design and architecture aces Iván Navarro & Courtney Smith, MVRDV, and Storagemilano. With this vast installation, they encouraged visitors to abandon the “rules of design” and reinvent new ones with sense of absurdity and alien modularity. The three-dimensional hall is turned into visual adventures of deconstructionism.

THE MIRROR CUBE – BVLGARI HOTEL

This installation is the second part of Reinventing Design Rules journey. Settled in the hotel’s garden, the Mirror Cube reflected all 5 sides from the cube, creating a camouflage of light glistening in the middle of greeneries. Inside it, guests can witness black and white pattern lining dominated by the design of Bvlgari’s iconic B.zero1 ring. The mystifying experience can be captured with special selfie camera that generates gif in one moment.

BVLGARI GALLERY – MONTENAPOLEONE BOUTIQUE

The boutique is turned into a functional installation where guests can walk around the B.zero1 collections from time to time. The hospitality room is wrapped in monochromatic, geometric patterns splashed in orange color. The hypnotic environment is beautifully mixed with plant walls, where the mirror boxes carrying B.zero1 are hiding.
