Lauded for all the success at Bottega Veneta, Tomas Maier finally stepped down from his position as Creative Director of the Kering-owned brand after 17 years of tenure.

We are giving a huge farewell for the maestro behind numerous iconic collections of Bottega Veneta including the Cabat bag, which has ever since become the top-seller from the house.

Kering (the brand’s parent company) has named the new designer as the next successor. Yes, it is no other than The Central Saint Martin’s graduate, Daniel Lee. He will effectively join Bottega Veneta on July 1, 2018.

The British is known for his tenure at several houses like Céline as the Director of Ready-To-Wear design. He also formerly worked at Balenciaga, Maison Margiela, and New York-based Donna Karan.

“I’m both honored and excited to continue the legacy that has been created at Bottega Veneta over the last five decades”, Lee expressed his feeling after the announcement.

Will the talented young designer bring a distinctive language to inherit the Italian brand’s success? Of course, all eyes are now on Lee.
