Rumors have mentioned several British actors who are likely to replace Daniel Craig after he steps back from eponym franchise James Bond. We almost forgot that James Bond 25 is now along its way to preproduction, and the buzz about who may and may not appear on screen is no less entertaining.
Not long ago, EON Productions and MGM Studios announced the 25th James Bond film, which will be Craig Daniel’s fifth and last outing as the secret spy. It will be released on October 25 2019 in the UK, and the production process will start in late 2018.
Some appealing names have been mentioned to be related with the upcoming film. To start with, Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Years Later) has agreed to undertake the directing role.
Not long ago, there’s a rumor spreading among the journalists that veteran actor Helena Bonham Carter is the producer’s first choice for the villain role. Angelina Jolie is also a popular name among the contenders, but as Carter is now producer’s favorite, it is likelier for the Fight Club actor to fill in the credit roll.
Rumor also has Iranian actor Golshifteh Farahani to be in odds for a role. Will she take the Bond girl role? We are yet to know.
On the other hand, Benedict Cumberbatch has even greater odds to have a role in the film. Last April, he seemed to be giving poker face while commenting about the news that Boyle will direct James Bond 25. During the interview for Infinity War promotion, he shyly replied a questioning journalist with, “I couldn’t possibly comment [on playing in the next Bond film]. Danger lies in that way of commenting, doesn’t it?”
Fans are also prospecting a classic character to return, namely the CIA Agent Felix Leiter who appeared in Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale. During a Reddit event, Leiter actor Jeffrey Wright told fans that it is possible for him to return for a reunion.
