Spring/Summer 2019 New York Fashion Week is officially over now. As people are shifting their attention to the next city on the list—London—we have highlighted all the enlightening moments just in case you missed it.

TALKING T-SHIRTS

As the works of art never seem to isolate themselves from the politics, several designers brought up their messages through their latest work. Christian Siriano, for example, came up with “Vote for Cynthia” for the upcoming New York gubernatorial election.

Jeremy Scott is one of the most vocal one among the creative directors. The American designer walked the runway in daring t-shirt with “Tell Your Senator No On Kavanaugh” written on it and followed by a Washington phone number to call and express antipathy towards the high court nominee.

He was one of a couple designers who stole our attention with his statement prints, including his own, personal face shots on tees, dresses, and sweaters. Painted in popping colors such as electric pink and orange, he got us “Aww”-ing with his Pikachu sweaters and knitwear.

BALL OF THE SEASON

Celebrating 50 years of Ralph Lauren, the American house hosted a special party at the show. Guested by dozens of stars, the highlight was the appearance of some of the hottest celebrity couples today. The newly-engaged Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra joined the love parade, followed by Crazy Rich Asians rising star Henry Golding and Liv Lo.

LILY OF THE VALLEY

Victoria’s Secrets angel Lily Aldridge stunned the runway of Brandon Maxwell show with something empowering: her baby bump! The American model is currently 5-month pregnant and yet, she looked as glowing as ever. This is one of the empowering moments for women in the modeling industry, but the list is not over yet!

SAMPLE SIZE? WHAT “SAMPLE SIZE”?

Chromat stole the show with their inclusivity of model choice. They got a wide range of models from different races, sizes, height, and physical fitness walking the runway. The New-York based fashion house even included a physically disabled to take their chance, and the feedback is amazing.
