Critics’ Choice: Women Moments

We haven’t fully recovered from Golden Globes 2019 when the 24th Critics’ Choice Awards arrived in less than a week.

Although Critics’ Choice may not sound as familiar as the Golden Globes for the public, the awarding ceremony that took place in Santa Monica on Sunday is nothing less important than the former. Initiated by Broadcast Film Critics Association, the 24th ceremony was a major empowering moment for women in cinema industry.

Take notice on how Lady Gaga and Glenn Close shared the trophy for Best Actress Awards, while Amy Adams and Patricia Arquette also did so for Best Actress in Miniseries Awards. There was no sense of competition or awkwardness towards each other. They showed the audience that women in the industry support each other, and are even happier to share the achievement together.

But, of course, that would not be the only thing to watch from Lady Gaga. The singer also gave us a surprise by wearing something unsurprising at all. She is known for her quirky, out-of-the-box depiction of red carpet outfit. However, Gaga appeared in gracefully draped in satin-esque dress. She certainly led the best-dressed list with other girls.

Now, for our early year inspiration for party dresses, here are some of our best picks from the Awards. Velvety texture and cool colors such as off-white, silver, to platinum were the major highlights during the show.
